When you need to cut meat, cut it:

big enough so that it’s impossible to swallow without chewing, or

little enough to swallow without the need to chew.

Finally, when you feed your dog bones, my advice is to watch him eat. At the very least, stay in the same area. Safety matters. You can also break up bones with meat knives if you choose. There are ones that look a lot like medieval cleavers. Those will break up a bone. If you do not have one, a hammer can work (although it is not my main recommendation). It’s always best to use tools designed for their specific purposes.

Does the temperature of the raw meat matter? If your dog got to decide, she would pick eating meat at body temperature. It’s fine to let meat sit out a while so it can get to room or body temperature prior to feeding. Regardless, they will be thrilled to eat cold food, too, whether it’s meat, veggies, or fruit. Both body temperature and room temperature will work fine. My dog prefers cool and fresh. Dogs have their own preferences, so try them and observe. Your dog will tell you which is his favorite. Of course, some dogs are more opinionated than others. Mine has a real mind of his own, which I love!
